White patrol car of the German Federal Police (Bundespolizei) in Bad Bergzabern, Rhineland-Palatinate (near the German Wine Gate on the border to Alsace). The vehicle belonging to the Federal Police department is part of the fleet of the German-French Joint Operational Unit (DFEE), which was established under the Treaty of Aachen under the name »Daniel Nivel«. Daniel Nivel is a French gendarme who was attacked and seriously injured by German football hooligans during riots in 1998. The DFEE is an ad-hoc, occasion-related unit called in for deployments at major events. For instance, the German-French police unit DFEE was deployed at the G7 summit and during the Tour de France. Since 2021, the DFEE has been supplemented by the Joint German-French Service Unit (GDFD). This unit was also formed from members of the Gendarmerie and the Federal Police and is called in on an ad-hoc basis by local stations to combat irregular migration.

The vehicles as well as the 1:87 scale model are specially marked with the additional »Gendarmerie« lettering on the front, rear, and both the driver and passenger sides.
