The prototype in Malmoeland belongs to the group of Dutch windmills and could not have been a better choice for a model railway layout or diorama.
The octagonal base shape is essential for the entire tower-like structure.
The wooden construction with overlapping cladding blends gracefully with the solid-looking substructure made of rubble stone.
As a tall tower mill, it also features long sails in the model, providing a large wind-catching surface and more energy.
The cap forms a beautiful onion-shaped finish at the top.
The encircling wooden gallery with its diagonal support beams is particularly striking.
Using a tailpole, the sails are turned into the wind.
