Debuting in 1959, the Mini remained beloved and in production for 41 years without a major redesign until the year 2000. Initially, it was launched under two separate brands: Austin and Morris. Featuring a front-engine, front-wheel-drive, two-box layout, its engineering was revolutionary for the era. Despite a total length of just over 3 meters, placing the small 10-inch wheels at the absolute corners of the body maximized interior space, comfortably accommodating four adults. While offering immense practicality as a pioneer of the compact car, its agile, go-kart-like handling paved the way for a succession of high-performance versions. Most notable among them was the Austin Mini Cooper 1275S, introduced in 1964. It featured a 1,275cc engine tuned to produce 75 horsepower, enhanced by twin carburetors and various mechanical upgrades. This model drew massive attention in the motorsport world, skyrocketing the popularity of the Mini to even greater heights.
