After its introduction in mid-1943, the Panther quickly became one of the mainstays of the German armored forces until the end of World War II. The Ausf.G (Type G) variant entered service in 1944 and was itself upgraded during the second half of that same year. Improvements included a modified lower section on the gun mantlet to prevent shot traps from penetrating the crew compartment, flame-dampening exhausts to improve night stealth, and a crew compartment heater unit installed on the engine deck. Combining mobility, firepower, and survivability, the Panther is considered one of the most successful armored vehicles of World War II.

Last featured in the Tamiya catalog in 2010 under item number 48209, the 1/35 scale RC Panther Ausf.G Late Version is once again available, paired with an updated radio control system.
